Quick MetaMask Setup for Arbitrum: Samurai Warlords Step By Step Mint Guide

Here’s a detailed step-by-step guide on how to set up your MetaMask wallet with the Arbitrum One chain, specifically to prepare for the free mint of cards in Samurai Warlords.

Step 1: Install MetaMask

  1. Go to the MetaMask website: Visit the official MetaMask website at https://metamask.io.
  2. Download the extension: Click on the “Download” button and choose the appropriate version for your browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Edge).
  3. Add MetaMask to your browser: Follow the browser prompts to add the MetaMask extension.
  4. Create a wallet: Once the extension is installed, open MetaMask by clicking on the fox icon in your browser’s toolbar. Click “Get Started” and then choose “Create a Wallet.”
  5. Set a strong password: Enter a strong password for your wallet. Ensure that it’s something you can remember, but also secure.
  6. Backup your seed phrase: After creating the password, you’ll be given a seed phrase. IMPORTANT: Write this down and store it in a safe place. Do not share this phrase with anyone. It’s the only way to recover your wallet if you forget your password or lose access.

Step 2: Add Arbitrum One Network to MetaMask

To interact with the Arbitrum One blockchain, you need to add the network to your MetaMask.

  1. Open MetaMask: Click on the MetaMask icon in your browser to open the extension.
  2. Click on the network dropdown: By default, MetaMask is set to the Ethereum Mainnet. You’ll need to switch to Arbitrum, but first, we need to add it. Click on the network dropdown at the top (it will say “Ethereum Mainnet”).
  3. Select Arbitrum one from the options and click add network

Add a custom network:

Scroll down and click on “Add Network.”

A new tab will open with network settings.

Enter the Arbitrum One details:

Network Name: Arbitrum One

New RPC URL: https://arb1.arbitrum.io/rpc

Chain ID: 42161

Currency Symbol: ETH

Block Explorer URL: https://arbiscan.io

These details are essential for connecting to Arbitrum One. After entering them, click “Save.”

Switch to Arbitrum One: Once you save the network, MetaMask will automatically switch to the Arbitrum One network.

You’ll see “Arbitrum One” at the top of the MetaMask extension.

Step 3: Add Funds to MetaMask for Gas Fees and Paid Mint

Even though Samurai Warlords offers a free mint, you’ll still need ETH to cover gas fees on the Arbitrum One network. For both free and paid mints, it’s important to have ETH ready for any transaction costs or mint fees.

Transfer ETH to MetaMask: Whether you’re participating in the free mint or paid mint, you’ll need to bridge ETH from Ethereum Mainnet to Arbitrum. Here’s how:

  1. Visit a bridge service such as Arbitrum Bridge.
  2. Connect your MetaMask wallet to the bridge by clicking “Connect Wallet.”
  3. Select Ethereum as the source network and Arbitrum as the destination.
  4. Enter the amount of ETH you want to bridge. Make sure you have enough ETH for both mint fees (if you’re doing a paid mint) and gas fees for all transactions.
  5. Confirm the transaction in MetaMask and wait for the bridge process to complete. This may take a few minutes.
  6. Check your ETH on Arbitrum: After the transaction is completed, you’ll see the ETH in your MetaMask wallet under the Arbitrum One network. Make sure you have enough ETH not just for gas but also for any paid mints in the future.

 

Step 4: Prepare for the Mint on Samurai Warlords

Now that you’ve added ETH to your wallet, you’re ready for both free and paid mints:

  1. Ensure you’re connected to Arbitrum One: Open MetaMask and confirm that you’re on the Arbitrum One network by checking the dropdown menu.
  2. Visit the Samurai Warlords mint page: When the mint goes live, go to the official Samurai Warlords website. Be sure to verify the URL to avoid scams.
  3. Connect your MetaMask wallet: On the Samurai Warlords mint page, click “Connect Wallet” and select MetaMask. Follow the prompts to connect your wallet.

Participate in the mint:

For the free mint, follow the on-screen instructions. You will only need ETH to cover gas fees.

For the paid mint, ensure you have enough ETH in your wallet to cover both the minting fee and gas. Follow the same process to mint your cards.

Step 5: Managing Your Minted NFTs

After you’ve completed the mint, you can easily manage your Samurai Warlords NFTs:

View your minted NFTs

After minting, go to the “Assets” section in MetaMask to see your newly minted Samurai Warlords NFTs. Alternatively, visit a marketplace like OpenSea to view or trade your NFTs by connecting your MetaMask wallet.

Stake or trade your NFTs

Depending on the asset you minted, you’ll be able to stake your NFTs to earn rewards, or trade them on marketplaces.
