Naginata
At some point in history, a blacksmith wondered what would be the result of mixing a sword and a spear. The result turned out to be nothing less than one of the deadliest weapons used by Japanese soldiers.
The naginata is a long spear with a blade at the end. Unlike normal spears, it is capable of being used both for slashing and stabbing. This turns it into a perfect weapon for all kinds of scenarios in open spaces. An army full of naginata can be an authentic nightmare both for foot soldiers and cavalry on the enemy team.
Although naginatas are used by all kinds of troops in the Japanse army, the truth is no one is as good with them as the monks. These warriors spend their entire life training in the monasteries to perfect the use of this weapon. Some legends even tell tales of monks who used naginatas to deflect arrows in mid-air.
