Shimpan Daimyo belong to some of the richest and most powerful families in Japan. They are not only specialists in battle, but they wear a luxurious battle suit to remind that to their troops, and encourage them in battle.

Since Shimpan Daimyo come from influential families, they usually have contact with people in the imperial court. This allows them to influence to an extent what courses of action are decided there.

Some Shimpan Daimyo are known to have changed the course of history, manipulating and establishing alliances behind the Shogun, conspiring to seize power and eliminate their enemies.
